Claremont McKenna: The Big Picture
Best thing- small community where everyone takes care of each other and teachers are really there for you. Spend most of my time hanging out outside the dorms or in the library doing work or partying. Students here work hard play hard. Theres a littel village near by thats cute but not practical because its expensive so people spend the majority of their time on campus. Not a lot of school pride for sports because everything is D3 but theres a ton of school pride in the student body and CMC in general. I think the school is unusual ebcause everyone really wants you to succeed and it tries so hard to support you in whatever you want to do. Rules arent strict and the students are trusted. We get priveledges a lot of other students at other schools dont get such as free printing (which is actually a way bigger deal that it soudns) and a really lax alcohol policy and funding for summer internships.
My best experience at CMC was my sophomore year i lived in a suite in north quad with all of my friends. We became so close adn it really is the closest thing Ive ever had to a family outside of my home. I had the best year andreally grew to love cMC because of it.
CMC admin is fair and puts up with a lot. We love them.

Claremont McKenna Academic Life
Academics are challlenging but so great. teachers are hard but fair and want you to do well. Biology is very strong as are all the sciences and sharing them with pitzer and scripps through the joint science program enables cMC to have way more resources in teh sciences than another college of the same size. having smallclasses makes such a difference, too. we have a lot of general education classes we have to take along with our major which some people dont like but i love because it exposes you to things you wouldnt have normally taken. i learned so much in a lot of my classes that werent related to my major. i could go on and on, the academics are amazing.
education is definitely geared towards getting a job, cMC is very practical which I appreciate greatly.
Claremont McKenna's Student Body
We are a very fun and happy student body. the students are from every state or international its amazing. theres also a lot of cali students but not as many as youd think. we wear flip flops every day because the weather is perfect. financial backgroudns can be very diverse although on the outside it seems as if everyone has a lot of money. then you go to the financial aid meetings and you are surpirsed to see how many people are there withyou. students aer very politically active and aware.
