Magnificent scenery including impressive mountain ranges and lush forests, Alaska offers extracurricular activities for adventurous types as well as many reputable and rich university options. There are both public and private options for Alaska universities. There are state schools in three different cities in Alaska, the largest being the University of Alaska- Anchorage. In terms of private schools, one of the highest regarded is the private Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage.
As half of Alaska’s population resides in the city of Anchorage, many of the schools are located here including but there are also colleges in Fairbanks and the capital of Juneau. In Fairbanks, there’s the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, which is one of the highest rated colleges in the West. In Juneau, there’s the University of Anchorage-Southeast.
