Known as the Peach State, Georgia has over 50 public colleges and over 70 private colleges for prospective students to choose from. Many of the colleges in Georgia are located in the city of Atlanta including the prestigious public school Georgia Institute of Technology also known as Georgia Tech. Other public schools include the University of Georgia, located in Athens.
Emory University, one of the top private colleges in the country, is located in Atlanta. Other private colleges in Georgia include Morehouse College and Spelman College, both of which are Historically Black Colleges, HBCU’s. Spelman College is the top ranked HSCU in the country. Additionally, the Savannah School of Art and Design, SCAD, is a prestigious arts college in Georgia. Georgia also offers the Technical College System of Georgia, which has 28 schools in the state.
