Colleges in Massachusetts Beverly

With a long, rich history and some of the best colleges and universities in the nation, Massachusetts is a great state in which to consider going to college. One of the country’s most prestigious schools, Harvard University, is located in the Boston area. Harvard University is also the nation’s oldest college. Including Harvard, seven Massachusetts colleges are routinely on the US News & World Reports list of best colleges. These include the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Tufts University, Brandeis University, Clark University and Northeastern University.

There’s also a strong, dense contingent of reputable women’s colleges in Massachusetts, including Smith College, Wellesley College and Mount Holyoke College. These schools are all part of the “Seven Sisters,” a prestigious group of liberal arts schools in the Northeast.
