Missouri offers more than 200 colleges and universities for students to choose from, many located in the three major metropolitan areas of Saint Louis, Kansas City and Springfield. There are many public college options in the state, including the largest, The University of Missouri–Columbia. This is ranked on the US News and World Reports list of top schools. Others include the University of Central Missouri, Missouri State and Webster State.
A strong private school option is the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, which has both strong undergraduate and graduate departments. Other private colleges in Missouri include liberal arts schools such as Evangel University, Westminster College – Fulton, and Stephens College, some with religious affiliations. There are also nearly a dozen community and career oriented colleges in Missouri.
