Colleges in New Hampshire

The majority of the colleges and universities in New Hampshire are top notch. While most of these schools are private, there are five public colleges in New Hampshire that fall under the University System of New Hampshire, USNH. The 5 colleges in USNH are strong and varied, from the largest being the University of New Hampshire to the smaller student body at liberal arts Granite State College. The other three public schools are Keene State College, Plymouth State University and University of New Hampshire – Manchester.

One of the most prestigious colleges in New Hampshire is part of the Ivy League, Dartmouth University. Opened in 1769, Dartmouth is also the oldest college in the state. Additionally, there are also a host of community college options that are part of the Community College System of New Hampshire.
