While most people think of Las Vegas when they think of Nevada, the state is also home to the scenic Mojave Desert, the Hoover Dam, and mountain ranges making it a diverse place to go college. There are over 50 colleges and universities in Nevada. The Nevada System of Higher Education consists of five public universities including the highly ranked University of Nevada – Las Vegas, the College of Southern Nevada and Truckee Meadows Community College.
Nevada also has private colleges including the respected Sierra Nevada College and the University of Southern Nevada. There are many career oriented post-secondary schools options in Nevada such as the Pima Medical Institute – Las Vegas and various technological schools. Additionally, many community colleges are found here, including The College of Southern Nevada.
