Colleges in Oregon Salem

Oregon, a scenic Pacific Northwest state seemingly unlimited outdoors oriented activities, offers over 100 college and university options. Two of the most well known public universities in Oregon are the University of Oregon and Oregon State University – Corvallis, both being ranked among the best colleges in the West.

Both Portland and Eugene are the cities in which most of the colleges in Oregon are located, the majority in Portland. The largest student enrollment is at Portland State University and it is, surprisingly, the states only public university located in a major city. The University of Oregon – Eugene is consistently on the US News & World Reports lists of best colleges. There’s also the progressive, independent university, Reed College, which attracts more liberally oriented students.
