Colleges in West Virginia Morgantown

Known as the Mountain State, West Virginia has over 75 colleges, universities and post-secondary school options. Charleston is the state’s largest city and capital and home to the one of the top ranked schools in the state, West Virginia University. WVU is a public, historically black university in Charleston. Also located here is the University of Charleston.

Other college and universities include West Virginia State University and Marshall University – Huntington. Huntington is another large city in West Virginia. One of the most notable private universities in West Virginia is the West Virginia Wesleyan College, a liberal arts college associated with the United Methodist Church. There are also many 2-year degree opportunities including the West Virginia Northern Community College, WVNCC, which has three campuses throughout the state.
