Middlebury Transit is a group of elderly highway robbers. Convenience comes at too high a price for such hard-working children. The school, however, is delightful. The weather is just harsh enough to keep everything cozy, the people are kind and accommodating, and Middlebury as a town holds its own as a sand-up establishment.

My professors know my name within three days of the first day, and although that may be because of my constant mock crying from the back of the room and their asking if I'm alright, it still boggles the mind to think of such an achievement.

With very little effort, I am also able to meet up with these professors outside of class to discuss topics of interest, because in class, great discussion is rare. It happens, but if you want more, there's always someone around to engage you.

You learn how to learn here. No matter the professor or the material, you learn to figure out what it means to learn something and how to go about doing that.

It seems like all the international students are quite wealthy. Which is disturbing.

Theater is way popular here. As are sports. And it will always baffle me how well-attended every show is. For every player and performer, there are five enthusiastic audience members who on a different day are the performers themselves. Everyone goes to their friend's stuff, everyone always has a few extra minutes to stop studying and check out a show or a lecture or a movie or a play.

I met my closest friends by living with and near them. It's harder when you're outside that realm.

There's a reason they exist, but it's not overwhelming.

I love waking up when it's raining in Midd, and I love having an East-facing window. I love that my friends can visit from other schools and eat without swiping a card. I love getting beer and a love me tender to watch a movie with friends in my room. For a long time I thought I was justifying so the 49,000 a year wouldn't hurt so much, but its getting less difficult to believe myself.
