    • What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

There is such a huge range of people at Texas Tech and that creates a group of friends for every type of person. We have the typical sororities and fraternities that you would find at any large university, but we also have nerds, geeks, jocks (especially at the rec center and on our football team), etc. but everyone seems to get along quite well and the stereotypes don't really counter into who a person is or what defines them. Yes, there are typical stereotypes everywhere, that is inevitable, but at the same time there are unique, fascinating people that don't fit the mold of being your typical jock, stoner, or frat boy. Overall, Texas Tech has a vast array of people that attend where anyone can find their place.

    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

Texas Tech is so much more than a university. My favorite thing, however, has to be the football games. They are heated and exciting and no matter how well or poor we do, people are there supporting our team. Most people, when I tell them I go to Texas Tech, ask me how I could live in a place where everything is so far away. I tell them, it's because everything's so far away that everyone here is so tight-knit, and that makes things even better. As far as size goes? It's a big school. No doubt. But what do you expect from one of the three big universities in Texas? While Texas Tech is a huge university, there is also a feeling of the local presence. The locals of Lubbock have a huge role in Texas Tech events and play a huge part in the lives of Texas Tech students.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

Professors at Texas Tech range from a wide variety of teaching levels. My favorite class here so far has to have been Biology lecture with Dr. Dini. Everyone I had talked to about this class before hand said it would be hard, and don't get me wrong, it was, but it was one of the more rewarding classes I have taken at Texas Tech because I had to work hard for my grade. Students were willing to help each other understand the material and at the same time wanted to do the best they could to succeed. It has been so incredible as far as furthering my education and preparing me for medical school and the rest of my education as a Biochemistry major. My least favorite class, by far, was my Intro to Library class. This class was meant to give students a way to get around the library. While it was informative, was incredibly boring and many of the assignments were repetitive.

    • Describe the students at your school.

Most of the students at Texas Tech are completely different. For the most part, they are white Christians from small Texas cities or suburbs. However, there is an abundance of international students and people from the rest of the country. There is a community of every kind since the school has such a large population of students, usually you just have to look for it. Mostly, students here are very Republican due to the fact that Texas Tech is located in West Texas and Texas is well known for being a Republican state. There is a Democratic presence at Texas Tech, because younger people tend to be Democrats, and they are very politically active on campus.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

By far, the most popular student activities are the football games. Texas Tech students and locals live for the football games and go crazy for everything football related. Most every weekend that isn't a football game is either a watch party or a party in general. For those who don't drink, there are clubs where you can hang out or dance. A lot of people find sororities and fraternities a very important part of their life and find that they meet most of their best friends in them. They are prominent for those who want to be involved with them and for those who don't, they find other things they can do.

    • Describe a day on campus you’ll never forget.

One of my most favorite days on campus was my freshman year in the dorms at Stangel. I remember this day so well because all my classes were cancelled and my hallmates got to stay in our rooms the entire day cuddled in blankets. it was so relaxing and I got to know them just that much better. We made so many inside jokes that day, I can't even remember them all.

    • What are your classes like?

My classes are rough. Many of them are challenging and not easy to do well in, but then again, my major isn't the easiest. But, there are those classes that are easy and still learn or not, it depends on what you want. My choice, personally, I like to be interested in what I'm studying in order to I challenge myself. So, while my classes are difficult, I love them.

    • Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Carol Of Lights is by far my most favorite tradition. You get to go around the university and look at all the pretty lights that the school has put up, plus, there's this massive tree in the middle of campus. It's just absolutely gorgeous. Oh, and you get to hang out with a bunch of friends and laugh and have a good time also.
