    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

Going to Wesleyan, like going to most small liberal arts schools, is basically a surreality removed from the woes of normal human existence that your parents finance. Everything is sort of dreamy and wonderful, the campus is compact and beautiful and people seldom leave it (Middletown sucks), public safety seldom hassles you, and the weekends/weeks are not void of debauchery. One nice thing about Wesleyan is the ivy league quality of education (classes, teachers, facilities) without an air of stuffy academia. Students work hard and are intelligent but most are more than willing to kick back and get down like a good heathen.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

Wesleyan academics are great. Classes are challenging and stimulating and teachers expect a lot out of their students. However, most are still able to keep their head above the water and most students are involved in a wide variety of extracurriculars and addictions. Perhaps the hardest part of being a Wesleyan student it reconciling yourself to the fact that you can't take all of the courses offered- they all sound so good.

    • Describe the students at your school.

Wesleyan strives to be "diversity university." Now we'll ignore how lame that phrase is and address whether it is valid. Wesleyan is very diverse racially, geographically, and academically; there is a great emphasis in teaching the student body to reject any form of discrimination and to be unconditionally acceptive. This is all fine and good and for the most part the university succeeds. What you will not see here are much disparity in political thought- the school is overwhelmingly liberal and i feel dearly sorry for the underrepresented conservative contingent (well, maybe not). Wesleyan's greatest weakness in terms of diversity is the clear class divide that defines the student body of most private universities. Only those with wealthy enough families can attend a school like wesleyan, because of this everyone is perhaps more similar than we would guess.

    • Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

There are stoners, there are hipsters.. but there are also just about every other social group that one might want to associate with (yes even bros). Wesleyan is pleasantly diverse, at least in terms of the variety of social niches, and there is a little something for everyone. Look forward to offensively over-represented liberal thought and attempts to offend everyone in order to offend no one.
