    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

Amherst's perfectly small size creates a sense of community unmatched by any other other school. Everyone has an appreciation for other's diverse interests and it is common for one person to have multiple interests which range from athletic team membership to service work.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

Class sizes are usually small although the recently expanding student body has done much to alter its once small student:teacher ratio. My favorite class was taught by Professor Halgin-- Abnormal Psychology. He is the perfect example of a professor who cares about a student as a whole and their identity outside of class. Classes are pretty rigorous-- usually requiring 5-8 hours of work every week per class.

    • Describe the students at your school.

There are certainly cliques and groups but many different people do come together. Athletic cliques, however, are very common.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Athletic events are pretty popular- men's basketball is one of the most popular teams. Students leave their dorms open. If I'm awake at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday, it's because of work! I love traditions like Vespers, homecoming and the bonfire, and commencement.

    • What is the stereotype of students at your school?

A popular stereotype is that Amherst students are white, rich, elite kids who don't care about anything but their future careers.
