    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

Life is alright. As a computer science major, I probably spend more time cooped up doing work than other people.

I like the house system. It's great to have upperclassmen living on campus, and the system does a good job of fostering a sense of community.

Cambridge is a fantastic city to live in. I don't think you can really do much better in terms of location, unless you absolutely can't stand cold weather. Anything you could possibly want is nearby and the T is an incredibly convenient public transportation system. You wouldn't want to be driving around Boston, anyway.

Some people complain about the party scene, other people seem to be pretty happy with it. To be honset, I don't party, so I really can't judge.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

Some of my professors know my name, but it's true that most of my classes have been large, impersonal lectures. Students study a lot, although it varies rather widely depending on what classes you take. Pre-med classes, for example, are quite competitive. Math and science concentraters spend a lot of time working. But if you take the right Ec or Gov classes, you can sail through without doing all that much work at all.

CS is a pretty time-consuming major, but I think Harvard does a solid job at teaching it, especially considering that we're not a tech school.

    • Describe the students at your school.

People can be quite outspoken about their opinions. Campus is quite liberal, unsurprisingly. The student body is quite diverse---much more so than my high school---which is something I appreciate. Also, the student body is not terribly attractive. If you want hotties, go to UCLA.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Most popular clubs? I don't really know. I guess a lot of people work at the Crimson newspaper, but it's not, like, SUPER-popular. No frats. There ARE finals clubs, but those are kind of stupid. Since it's a city campus, there're restaurants open even late, which is fantastic. In general, living so close to Boston is really, really great.

    • What is the stereotype of students at your school?

That we all wear monacles, vests, and top hats, that we all own yachts, and that we all tell time by looking at our pocketwatches.

More seriously, probably that we're all overachieving type A personalities who work ourselves to death. Also, that we're incredibly nerdy.

    • Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

In as much as any stereotype is going to be accurate about a certain percentage of the group you're stereotyping. I'd say that you probably get more type A overachievers at Harvard than elsewhere, but far from everyone is that way.
