    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

The best thing about Holy Cross is the feeling of community that constantly surrounds you. Holy Cross is the perfect size, not small enough that you get bored, but not to big that you become overwhelmed. It is easy to learn everyone's name, but not so easy to know everyone's business. People know Holy Cross to be an academically rigorous school- and this is true. Holy Cross has one of the hardest work loads in the country and you should take that into consideration when deciding whether or not to come here. That being said, if you do decide to come here, you will get one of the best possible educations. Everyone who comes to Holy Cross is has school pride, in fact, one of the most common lines you will hear during freshmen orientation is that, by the time you graduate you will be "bleeding purple!"

    • What are the academics like at your school?

At Holy Cross, all of your professors will know your name. The class size usually doesn't get bigger than thirty or forty students, and in seminars they are even smaller. Students here study a lot, because all of the courses of academically demanding. Some of the professors grade harder than others, which can be difficult to manage, but they are usually very understanding if you need help outside of the class. I think Holy Cross is geared towards learning. No matter what you plan on doing after college, everyone is required to take a few core classes, which is a great foundation for anything you could possibly want to do. The liberal arts education prepares you for any vocation, which can be really helpful in the event that one of you has a midlife crisis and decides halfway through life to change careers.

    • Describe the students at your school.

Holy Cross is pretty diverse. I have seen no example of any intolerance on campus. Everyone is made to feel at home here. Holy Cross does have a high prevalence of upper middle class students, but the financial aid package here can be very helpful, so we do have some lower class students. Students are genuinely kind to one another on campus. Everyone holds doors for one another and says hello as you walk by.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Sports are very popular at Holy Cross. Unfortunately, on the weekends much of the fun revolves around drinking, so for those of you who don't drink, try to be prepared for that. There are other fun things to do. There are comedians, shows, and movies. If you want to be involved in the drinking scene, you can. If you don't, that's fine too. There isn't a lot of pressure on campus to drink if you don't want to.
