Improve your chances of getting into college,

The best part about Bowdoin is that beer flows very freely. The dorms are huge and the food is great.

A couple things that suck are that no hard alcohol is allowed, and the school is small (which is good in some respects, bad in others).

When I tell people from home I go to Bowdoin, they don't know what I'm talking about. When I tell people from New England, they are impressed.

I spend most of my time on either in my dorm or in the student union. The school is the town. There is not a lot of school pride except when dealing with Colby or Bates College.

One experience I will definitely always remember is Ivies. It's an absolute crunk fest.

Classes are really small so professors know you by face and name. Classes are generally very hard in comparison to other schools but if you get in you'll be able to handle them.

Students talk intellectually outside of classrooms - sometimes too much (hence the stereotype).

Bowdoin requires you to talk certain general education courses which are definitely broaden your horizons but are sometimes a pain.

Bowdoin is very liberal with special interest groups on campus. It almost favors gay pride which can sometimes be annoying. It seems like every week is a different "minority week."

Everyone is definitely nice and friendly and won't treat you bad. Students are from all over the world - even though there's a large portion from New England/Massachusetts.

Social Houses (what are left over from the fraternal days) are a large source of underclassmen fun. Students generally have an open door policy and will be friendly to you is you want to chill.
