    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

Brigham Young University is my favorite place on Earth right now. I always wanted to come here and worked hard in high school to make sure there was no way they could turn me away. The campus itself is beautiful and the buildings are close to one another. Most teachers keep their own agenda out of class discussion, although some do see things one way and one way only and if you do not agree, you get whatever grade they decide to give you. There are so many majors and classes and service opportunities here it really should be illegal. The students here are kind and open and willing to serve whenever they can. We are a diverse body of students and take pride in what we learn from each other! Last, but certainly not least, is the sports. BYU is famous for football, mens volleyball, basketball, soccer...Most of our sports teams are at least decent with many of them excelling in more than one way. There is never a shortage of things to do here, as Provo is a "college town." BYU is a great place to be.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

School is hard. Bottom line. Even the "easy" classes take work. There are not too many that you can simply breeze through, although the teachers - I believe - try to make class as interesting as possible.

    • Describe the students at your school.

What can I say, we are amazing. We have people from all over the world of all religions that come here. Yes, the majority are LDS, but the University tries hard to find students that will add to the diversity of BYU. Most of the 30,000+ students are involved in something or other. We have BYUSA, which is our student government, who puts on events all the time - from dances and BYU Idol to concerts and service projects. Students who graduate with a degree from BYU have a good chance of finding a good job in their field because employers around the globe know the work ethic that is promoted here.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Sometimes you have to really search for somewhere to go on a Friday night. There are not as many parties because we do not drink here. However, there are websites and fliers everywhere so find one and go have some fun! We do have a couple nightclubs on Center Street in Provo that are pretty good. There are salsa dances every week, sporting events, fundraisers, hot springs, pools/hot tubs, bike paths, parks, skate parks, and, of course, hiking the Y.

    • Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

Actually, it is surprising how many men AND women do come here only to find someone to marry. A lot of parents urge their children to come to BYU so there is a better chance of finding someone who is a "good Mormon."
