Knox is great. Class sizes are small, you have one on one with your professors, who almost always (I haven't had one yet who didn't) have you call them by their first names. Most of them don't like being called something that "makes them feel old."
There's always something going on or someone to run into and randomly strike conversation with. That's pretty much how everyone makes friends.
The Professors are wonderful. Class discussions are always very...interesting. Never a dull moment. You can be in a face to face heated debate with one of them, and they'll probably compliment you on your style or one of your points. I've seen it happen.
Group projects, projects on general, or individual research is a big thing. You'll do all of these at some point. If you like getting lost in some obscure topic or idea, you're free (and encouraged) to do it here!
There's a group here for everyone. Almost any major issue, there's a group devoted to it. Any major political movement, there's a group. Anything you are passionate about, there's a very good chance you'll find at least 20 others who feel the same.
Knox seems to be a very mixed group of people, and almost everyone will interact with each other at some point. We're pretty much a huge group of eccentric people. One of our star football players is a regular at the local poetry slams and writes with most amazing poems. No one is sure which he is praised for most often. His playing, or his poetry.
There is always, always something going on.
The best and most talked about tradition...easy. Flunk Day.
End of story.
(It will be, I guarantee it, your favorite day of the year. For the rest of your life.)
There seem to two main ones. Either we're all bookworm/nerds with no social life (and ugly), or we're all crazy liberals with no moral codes, etc... Knox seems to have a stereotype of us all being rich snobs, also.
It's not true that the entire school body is any of those things. Yes, we're smart, but we also have plenty of people with -very- active social lives. There are plenty of attractive students here, too. We do seem to attract a liberal student body, which is not a bad thing in the least. Although, we have plenty of super conservative students, too. They just happen to be outnumbered. And yes, our liberal students DO have good ethical guides and moral codes. We're nice people! We're not snobs either. A lot of students have money, but there are plenty (like me) who came from working class or lower backgrounds, and are having a great time.
