    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

There isn't a lot of school pride, and since our school is new, we kind of take the shadow of UCLA and UC Berkeley, but our school is really fun and full of very smart people. They push us a little bit harder than other schools because they want to climb higher in the rankings, so our school keeps getting better and better. I think the school is a good size, people wise, but there is a lot of walking. I wish there was more information available on the six colleges, because I think, which one you pick greatly effects how much fun you have. The type of people are different in each one. Muir, people are really laid back and have a great location on campus. Revelle, everyone complains about how difficult the GE's are, but if you are a Science major they aren't that bad. Normally the most academic people are in Revelle. Marshall, seems pretty laid back and people are nice. Warren, people recomend this if you are an Engineering major, because the GE's fit the best. Roosevelt, also has a lot of GE's, but is good for non science majors, there are a lot of girls in this college. Sixth, is the newest, and unnamed at the moment- and it's writing program is a little silly and has a weird location on campus, but it has decent GE's.

But if you are a transfer student none of that matters. It's all for the first part of your undergrad.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

The students are smart at UCSD, part of the reason I chose it. Some classes are competitive. The professors that I have come in contact with are very helpful and care a lot about forwarding my education.

    • Describe the students at your school.

There are a lot of caucasian and asian people on campus. The campus is mod-liberal, and there aren't a lot of protesting, but there is some. There are all sorts of financial backgrounds.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Dorms are fun, but be careful, because RSO's can get you in trouble if you are being too rambunctious. Especially if you are on the first floor of your building or really loud. Sun God is a festival everyone looks forward to. Fallfest is fun, and at the end of every quarter they give out food and massages, and have a TGIO concert. There are lots of concerts througout the year, and movies on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays for three dollars. Partying is hard to find, but it is definitely happening, if you get in with the right people. If I wanted to I could go to a party tuesday through sunday. Getting into the greek life is the best idea if you want to party, or at least know someone in te greek life. Frats/Sororities don't have on campus housing, but they are definitely still felt on campus. They have a cool lecture series called 'last lecture' where a professor gives what would be their last lecture ever. The school has a lot of school papers, which is fun. the MQ is like the Onion, the Koala is really dirty, the Triton is just opinions, and the Guardian is the main paper that comes out biweekly. On the weekends I normally go to one party, go out into San Diego by bus another day, and study on Sunday. The campus has a really good theater program. Freshman activities are normally dumb, but you should take advantage of them because technically you are paying for them.

    • What is the stereotype of students at your school?

That they are boring, that there is nothing to do, that people are to themselves, that they aren't spirited

    • Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

I think the people are really friendly, and that the school offers a lot of activities that more people should take advantage of instead of complaining. It's true our spirit is low because all of our sports teams are D2.

    • Here’s your chance: Say anything about your college!

The buses aren't always very frequent, but having a car is costly. Where the campus is located is kind of boring, but fun San Diego is like, 15-40 min bus ride in any direction. The dining hall food is good, it is one of the only UC's that isn't buffet. Careful what college you pick! UCSD is very fun, I really like it. San Diego is a neat place to live, in general. Making friends is harder in college then they say.
