    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

WashU is a great school, but its a little hard to get used to. Its a research university, so professors are not necessarily going to be concentrating on undergraduates. Its hard to make relationships with your professors, but if you try really hard, you can develop them. One benefit of being at a research university is that we have a lot of resources that smaller schools wouldn't-great libraries, extensive course selections and a lot of research opportunities. WashU is a nice size, in terms of student body. At about 6,000 undergrads, it is easy to make a defined group of friends, yet I can still walk around campus and see new people. However, St. Louis is not a college town, so you either spend a lot of time on campus or you need a car to get around.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

Students here are really smart, and its not just in the classroom. People here talk about classes, academics, and current events all the time. At parties, its funny to hear people taking about their most recent chemistry test or some funny lecture they had. Its nice to have smart friends, whenever I'm hesitant or struggling with a subject, I can find any one of my friends who can help tutor me or help me completely understand the subject.

    • Describe the students at your school.

WashU's student body is very, very diverse compared to the other schools I have visited. We have a million different students groups here that cater to racial groups, religious groups, sexuality groups, everything.

WashU is a school dominated by wealthy students, but its not obvious like other schools. No one flaunts there wealth, so its hard to tell who is on financial aid or not, which is how it should be.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

The Greek system here is BIG. As a non-Greek, its hard to fit in sometimes. For younger students who aren't 21 and cannot go to bars, you pretty much only go to frat parties. The frats here are surprisingly nice compared to other frats at other schools I have seen-they are clean and new. They are fun-lots of dancing and a lot of free beer for those who drink.

I love going out to eat, and St. Louis luckily has a pretty good restaurant scene, with places within walking distance of campus.

    • What is the stereotype of students at your school?

WashU students are known to be really smart, especially in the math and sciences, but a little nerdy. We also have a stereotype of having a lot of Asian students.

    • Here’s your chance: Say anything about your college!

Sadly, WashU is a very unattractive campus...I come from a high school with a very attractive student body and I have been shocked to see the amount of unattractive people here. However, people get "WashU goggles" and pretty much disregard any previous standards, so there is plenty of hooking up and dating going on...
