    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

I think the best thing about UCSB is the combination of a great location, great people, and a great academic institution. The weather is pretty moderate all year round, I live on the beach, and there's nothing quite like Isla Vista. You have all of your best friends within walking distance, and there's always something going on.

I think that they size of UCSB is just right, not too big and not too small. Friends I have the visit me here are always like, "I could NEVER go to school here! How do you do it?" UCSB kids do party pretty hard, and everyone knows it.

The library is great to study at, most kids go to the fourth floor. I really only go on campus to get studying done or to go to class.

Isla Vista defines 'college town'. All the local businesses rely on student, and cater to them accordingly. Lots of food specials, happy hours, etc.

The administration is alright, I can't complain. Nothing major has gone wrong with my experience here with the admin., but of course you have your shitty professors here and there.

I'm not personally into the school pride thing, but there are a lot of people who are. You can for sure get into it if you choose to.

Unique things about UCSB- Our campus is literally on the beach, lots of construction going on in IV and on campus, which tells me the school is really growing.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

I don't feel that the academics are an exception to any other University of our size. You have your lectures and your sections, pretty standard. People care about their classes but they also care about having a good time. Usually libraries are packed around midterm and finals time.

    • Describe the students at your school.

I think that extroverted people thrive at UCSB. People are pretty casual when they go to class.

You can really find any group that you would in high school at UCSB. Most kids are from Cali. There is a decent amount of political awareness on campus, but you kind of have to get yourself involved and be proactive about it.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

The greek system is growing really fast here. I'm in a fraternity. There are lots of things to do on and off campus like cultural events, sports games, movies, shows, etc. Holloween is epic here. If I'm up at 2am on Tuesday, I'm either partying or pulling an all nighter. You can definitely have social life if your not in the greek system. People party alllll the time, you can find someone who's down to get fucked up any night of the week. And to be honest, it is kind of difficult to find something sober to do on a Saturday night in Isla Vista. You get used to it, but you can also get over it.

    • What is the stereotype of students at your school?

UCSB is a party school, University of Casual Sex and Beer, U Can Study Buzzed, the best looking university student body in the nation
