Emerson: The Big Picture
I feel like the school size is just right, but I'm not too into schools that are really big. Boston is a great place to go to college because there are so many students from different colleges that live here. When I tell people that I go to Emerson they usually say "Oh cool."
Emerson Academic Life
The classes are pretty small most of the time, it depends on the class though. All of my professors know my name and what I'm interested in studying which to me is a very good thing. The most unique class I've taken so far is puppetry (a lot of schools don't offer that course) which is open to seniors and graduate students. The education is geared toward learning for its own sake but the professors are great about helping you get jobs too.
Emerson's Student Body
The campus is very LGBT friendly. The student that would probably feel out of place at Emerson would be an ultra-conservative Republican. Most students are from the New England area, but there are a lot from all over. Students are very politically aware and are predominantly left.
Emerson Student Activities + Social Life
We're not really a big athletic school but I'm sure people come to support the games. Theater is more popular. If I'm awake at 2 am on a Tuesday I would be working on a big project or paper that is probably due the next day. I didn't really realize we had fraternities or sororities until halfway through the year.
