What are some stereotypes about PC students?

That majority of the students are rich thanks to their fathers.
That the students are carbon copies of one another.
The female uniform consists of: UGG boots, North Face fleeces, Ralph Lauren and/or J. Crew Polos, Pearls (especially earrings).
All minorities are considered to either be an athlete or on a scholarship.
PC stands for Party College.
Students use their fake IDs more than their actual school IDs.

Are the stereotypes accurate?

80% accurate.

PC: The Big Picture

One of the best thing's about PC is the quality and prestige of the education and institution. Diversity is a continous issue at Providence College. Anywhere you go someone will either know or even have been to Providence College. The actuality of the lack of diversity is not due only on the part of Providence College but the desire is not there by minorities to attend this institution. The school is on the small side for some but on the large side for others based upon one's hometown and past school setting experiences. There are about 3900 students and many faces are familiar even though you may not literally know the student. McPhail's is a popular place on campus. The city of Providence has many interesting characters but it is a college town with surrounding schools: Johnson & Wales University (JWU), Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Brown University, Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI). Close by is also University of Rhode Island (URI), Salve Regina Univeristy, and Bryant University. As far as PC's administration... they are set in their traditional ways. Alcohol is the continuous controversy on campus. There is alot of school pride; especially for the Men's Basketball, Hockey, and Soccer teams. GO FRIARS! Development of Western Civilization is a core part of the curriculum and Parietals (rules about when members of the opposite sex can visit in the dorms) is what is unusual about PC. The most frequent student complaints would have to be Raymond cafeteria and meal plan options, and Office of Residence Life's housing process.

PC Academic Life

Academics are very strong at PC. Professors are very interested in those students who are interested in them. Least favorite class is DWC. Class participation is a must in almost all courses. Majority of the students here are extremely competitive regardless if they were "trashed" the night before, they will pull through for that grade. The education here is more geared to getting that right internship and/or job and then learning second.

PC's Student Body

I would say that Providence College is about 99% white and 1% other. The campus is very religious and homophobic. Most students are from CT, MA, NJ and NY (especially Long Island). Majority of the students come from upper middle class families with intentions to continue to be apart of such class if not higher. PC students can be considered to be Politically aware and active.

PC Student Activities + Social Life

Friar's Club, Board of Programmers (BOP), and Admissions Ambassadors are the very competitive organizations to be apart of. Athletic events by the season are a big deal. Dating at Providence College.... There are few who find that one person and spend their entire college career with them. For the ideal others you are more likely to "hook up" with the same guy than for a true relationship with title to happen. It is around the middle to end of junior year are the loyal relationships established. People go out to the bars everyday of the week, clubbing happens by a small group on the weekends primarly. At 2 am you are likely to find half the student body at Golden Crust Pizzeria off campus and down the street. There is no Greek Life here at Providence College, hence why athletics, Friar's Club and BOP are like cults. BOP is responsible for various activities on campus that don't involve alcohol like concerts, food festivals, speakers etc... Off campus many students travel to Providence Place Mall that has all of the stores you can think of, a food court, and the movie theatres.
