Bradley: The Big Picture
I suggest getting involved. With a small school and an even smaller campus, it is easy to find new people, especially when you begin your freshmen year. With a lot of the construction some students may be discouraged with the lack of athletic facilities, but with some effort you can obtain a membership to a gym off campus provided by the school. Our school has recently obtained a new President, she has made a point to address underage drinking at our campus, and enforces the $375 city fine + $50 university fine for anyone caught underage drunk (zero tolerance). What I absolutely love about Bradley University is the Greek Life, i capitalized it because I believe it is amazing. Their are 14 fraternities and 7 sororities on our campus and each house has their own type of people. With an average fraternity around 40 members it is easy to get to know your brothers, and I believe makes your college life so much better. Also the girls at Bradley are hot, not to be a perve.
Bradley Academic Life
I am in the Foster business of college studying Business management and administration. I think the classes are fun and there are good teachers. There are also bad teachers at Bradley but hopefully you can stay astray from them while attending Bradley. I have noticed from a number of professors that they really care about how well you do and understand their class, they will help you out of class if you have a problem. Bradley also offers free tutoring for almost every subject. I have noticed that many of the classes are getting hard at Bradley but you can expect that of any university at the higher level of classes. I have noticed that their are some classes you can take as gen ed's to get your gpa high. Ete 115 and ART 131 are the two easiest classes I think Bradley offers.
Bradley's Student Body
Their are many religious groups you can join there is a Hillel and a large Neumann center, which is very nice inside and a great place to relax if you are Catholic, connected to the Neumann center is a catholic church with a very good priest, I like to attend often, sometimes they offer free food. Their is a Christian fraternity/ sorority and many ethnic groups. It doesn't really matter if your parents are middle or lower class, because almost every college kid is poor. Bradley offers quick cash, which you can use at many stores for a variety of items. I don't feel like there is any norms in the cafeteria, as students eat whenever they feel like it. Bradley offers a variety of jobs on campus and off campus through job fairs, if anyone is strapped for cash.
Bradley Student Activities + Social Life
Get involved on campus many groups are fun, the ones ive heard of are:
ACBU- they are in charge of what entertainment comes to campus, if you want to get a particular type of band or comedian, get involved and get some good acts at campus, this year Jack's mannequin and several funny comedians came to campus.
Habitat for Humanity- they build houses as charity, many construction/engineers join this.
C.E.O- a business group which is FREE, they have small business on campus to make a profit, and work with you to enter business plan competitions in which you can win a lot of money, they also take you to Chicago McCormick place for the annual CEO conference where you stay in a 5star hotel for two nights and talk to successful CEO's and its all paid for by the school!
Phi Chi Theta/ your majors' honers fraternity. They are helpful for finding a job
Greek life- its award winning and I highly suggest it.
Most events are off campus so be careful as Peoria is a bad area, parties will either be at a fraternity house or an off campus house. Parties are fun but usually they are not huge like in some movies (bradley student size is small)
For people over 21 (bars do card hard) their are many bars students go to that are loads of drunken fun. If going to bars get a DD or cab, Bradley doesn't offer a ride system.
Many people get tired of the dorm life and move off campus, their are nice university owned apartments and many off campus student housing available your junior year, unless you go Greek and move out of dorms sooner.
Bradley Naked Truth
Watch out for task force, they are undercover cops that pose as students to break into houses and stop parties, they will ticket everyone and I doubt you have $400 to give to the city (willingly). Our new alcohol policy is very strict so watch out, you can check it out at Bradley.edu
The greek life is award winning and AMAZING. I won't say which house I am in but I highly recomend especially for men to go through rush, its informal and you will get loads of fun from going greek. Bradley is a non hazing school so don't let movie sterotypes detour you
