Central Michigan: The Big Picture
The best thing about Central Michigan is that it is such a small campus that you really get to know a lot of people. Also the class sizes are small so that makes it nice because you really get a one on one with the professors. I spend most of my time on campus in the library or in my room doing homework or relaxing. Central has an amazing sense of school pride! We really love to support our athletic teams and we just love going here to Central.
Central Michigan Academic Life
I love the fact that all of my professors know my name! I think that is really cool because at most schools you are just a number in the class, but here they know you by name and really take the time to get to know you. My favorite class was my Introduction to Teaching because my professor really engaged us in the issues that are facing teachers today and I really am excited to start teaching when I graduate. My major is Physical Education with a minor in Health and I hope to teach at the elementary school level. I feel that the education at Central is geared toward students' success after they graduate from college. They are preparing us for the rest of our lives, by teaching us how to use the latest technology in our field, which I feel is what employers are really looking for.
Central Michigan's Student Body
I don't think that any student would feel out of place here on Central Michigan's campus. It is a very welcoming campus and the university really strives to make this campus as diverse as it can be. Also people are always very interested in learning about other cultures. Many different types of students interact every day on campus either by working on a project or when hanging out in the dorms.
Central Michigan Student Activities + Social Life
Many of the students who live in the dorms leave their doors open so that they can have the chance to interact with the people who live on their floor or in the building. I think that it is a good way to get to know people or to just say hello. One of the most popular things to do on campus is to go to the athletic events and to guest speakers when they are here. We love to show our school spirit and support out athletes in any way that we can. We also love when guest speakers come because it gives us a chance to learn about ourselves and others and issues that the world is facing right now.
Central Michigan Naked Truth
I feel that even though we have the sterotype of being the drunk college campus that it just isn't true. People do like to have a good time, but a lot of students on campus don't drink. They find other ways to have fun and hang out with friends. I know that I like to do homework on Saturday nights and I am completely fine with that.
