Central Michigan: The Big Picture
The best thing about Central is the leadership minor and program they have. They're very centered on how leadership can go a long way. The size is perfect for me, not too big, and not too small. I spend most of my time at my sorority house and on campus, like at the library. The most recent controversy is when they found a noose in a science lab classroom, and the Dennis Lennox situation.
Central Michigan Academic Life
Most of my professors know my name, except if it's a lecture class. Since I'm a broadcasting major, I have one of the hardest major at Central. This is very difficult because my classes are created and set up so you fail, so academics is very difficult at Central for me but this is because my major is created so I succeed in the workplace.
Central Michigan's Student Body
I feel minoritys are not very common on this campus, but there are many groups here for them, yet they feel that we're a racist campus. I'm sorry but not many minority people apply to CMU, and those that do do not take advantage of the opportunities here on campus. I feel that the multi-cultural Greeks get away with too much and I do not think it's appropriate that they are allowed to haze their new members.
Central Michigan Student Activities + Social Life
The Greeks are popular on campus, and there are four strong sororities: Delta Zeta, Zeta Tau Alpha, Tri Sigma and Phi Sigma Sigma. Many freshmen dorms leave their doors open but in the upperclassmen dorms, they tend to stay closed. If I'm awake at 2am on a Tuesday it's because I'm drunk. People usually go out Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
