Baruch: The Big Picture
The best thing about Baruch is that there are no boundaries to waht you cannot do. When attending Baruch, you are literally on your own. There are great people to meet there and Baruch offers so many programs and so many internships and networking luncheons and so many clubs and much more. If there were one thing I would change about Baruch, it would be the living environment. They should start creating dorms but I reaize this isn't quite possible as of right now since there is limited space. Baruchs administration isnot bad. They are very helpful and explain everything to you inorder for your process to go along in a smooth manner. There is definitely a lot of school pride in Baruch when it comes to USG elections; choosing President and VP. Nothing is really unusual to my eyes. One experience I will always remember in Baruch are their networking luncheons, and their internship program offers provided by different companies. It is such a wonderful experience. Most frequent student complaints are smoking. People are smoking way too much and it tends to bother those who do not smoke. Also the womens bathroom, the ladies tend to leave the water running all the time. Watch! One day there will be no water, then what will we do!
Baruch Academic Life
Not all professors know your name because of the huge amount of students that are in the lecture halls but they try their best to keep up with attendance and keep some kind of organized record to better know you. I don't havea fvorite class as of yet but hopefully in the future that will come up. The most unique class I have taken is Anthropology. Anthropology is actually an interesting class and it allows you to obsereve and have a better respect for the rest of the cultures that exist out there. My major is Accounting. Hopefully I want to become a CPA, but if not I would like to do Forensic Accounting. But I don't think Baruch offers that program. Professors try to make time to add students in their book if they have any complaints or questions. This becomes really helpful, especially when the grades ocme through. The education at Baruch s geared toward getting a job but also learing and building yourself from the ground up. Its not only about passing classes but its also about placement and how you manage your time and effort to be waht you want to be and also have some sense of being proud of yourself for accomplishing your goals.
Baruch Student Activities + Social Life
There are nearly 150 clubs so im pretty sure anyone can fit into one of them. I met one of my closes friend during my Freshman year of 06 while waiting on the line to take id pictures and it just so happened taht me and my friend ended up being in the same LC(Learining Commmunity). Up to this day we still hang out and talk and she is the best! By the way, her name is Jessalin Lam :-D
Baruch Naked Truth
The Baruch campus itself is a little boring and dry and everyone is pretty isolated. That means if you don't know anyone, it is very hard to fit in. (I even invited a friend of mine to the campus and he said it wasnt't really anything to do but sit down or keep it moving) What is needed in Baruch is a little spark, I don't know what it is but its definitely something!
