    • What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Geeky. I feel as though this stereotype is true. The world is changing rapidly into such a technical super mind that in order to be successful you have to be a geek. Geeks rule the world. However, the stereotype of Clarkson being full of nerds is false in my eyes. Nerds are associated with being losers, loners, or weak. Being a geek implies knowledge, passion, drive to be the best all of which I feel the average Clarkson student has.

    • What is your overall opinion of this school?

      Best thing - Greek life.

One thing you'd change - the parking situation

      size - Just right.

Reaction - Either they know of it and say "oooh, that's a good school," or they say something a long the lines of "Where's that?" to which I have to go into detail about it being about as far north in the US as possible.

Spend time on campus? - Brand spankin' new student center.

College town? - Most definitely. three relatively close schools neighbor the surround the town of Potsdam.

      School administration? - Very personable.

Biggest recent controversy - I protested the atrocious prices at the late night dining services.

school pride? - medium, nothing too amazing, but I'm still proud to rep my school sweatshirt back home.

unusual? - The internet connection is very poor. and it's a technical school...?

One experience - freshman year. All of it.

Frequent complaints - Internet and parking.

    • What are the academics like at your school?

    • Describe the students at your school.

Racial experiences? - I'm friendly with basically all ethnicities. Black, white, asian, you name it and I'm friends with at least one of them.

out of place? - I feel as though if you're intelligent and try at all to be outgoing, you'll be able to fit in just fine.

Wardrobe? - casual clothes. Some teachers say no hats, but besides that mostly warm, casual clothes.

student interactions? - From my experience, everyone interacts with everyone else. It's a relatively small school so you become friendly with everyone.

four tables? - 1. students doing homework. 2. students in greek letters 3. students laughing about something benign. 4. More students laughing about the daily joke on reddit.

where are students from? - New york area. Few outliers from anywhere in the US to anywhere in the World.

Financial backgrounds? - I'd say middle class.

politically aware? - I would have to say no for the most part. Very little political talk besides in classes and the huge topics. (SOPA, PIPA, ACTA ect...)

Talk about earnings one day? - We all want to be millionaires and expect jobs out of college so yes, we do talk about money since we expect to make a lot some day.

    • What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Most popular groups? - Ski club is huge. Theres something like 80 other clubs which all offer a slew of benefits and opportunities.

my involvement? - I was the treasurer of my fraternity, Tau Epsilon Phi. I also founded the Clarkson bowling Team - we travel to different tournaments and compete. As well I was the president of the bowling club.

Doors open? - Freshmen year, definitely, it's was a must and most did. later years, for me atleast, doors started to be closed more than open.

Athletic events? - Hockey is very hyped and the big event on campus. guest speakers don't really get huge publicity, but still get fair amount of student viewers and no real such thing as theater at Clarkson.

Dating Scene? - Pretty tough but it's there. My friend and I had to reach out to the neighboring school of Suny Potsdam,

meet my closest friends? - freshman year, walking around trying to meet new people as well as getting to know my brothers in my fraternity.

awake at 2am? - all-nighter for the exam tomorrow morning

traditions? - hockey game verse SLU, yearly concert.

Party? - I'd say anywhere from once to three times a week (thursday = weekend for some students.)

fraternities/sororities? - I believe strongly that the reason i'm enjoying my time at Clarkson is in part due to my fraternity. I also strongly believe you have to pick the right one for who you are. Sorority's are more prevalent in Suny Potsdam, where Clarkson students can infact pledge if interested.

Last weekend? - drove to mohawk valley to compete in a bowling tournament.

Saturday night non-drinking? - Video games. Also, there are tons of activities hosted by the school that are sober events.

off campus? - I live off campus so that's what I do off campus, besides that you can go to the close mountains and ski or snowboard, or hike in the Adirondaks. It's a beautiful area if you get out into it.

    • What’s unique about your campus?

We have back trails (rotc trails) that you can go biking on or hiking. Those are a lot of fun. We're also in the process of adding a rock wall that will definitely add to the campus. When it snows, you can go snowboard or ski off jumps that students make.

    • When you step off campus what do you see?

You most likely see the town of Potsdam (a 10 minute walk). A small, college town with some nice small stores and some college town night life.

    • Describe a day on campus you’ll never forget.

Nothing super memorable happens on campus. You've got to go out and adventure a little for the best kind of memories.

    • Describe a typical weekend.

There is no such thing as a typical weekend for me. I'm so active that either I'm traveling to pennsylvania for a tournament, snowboarding, or hosting an event at the fraternity. School work is also usually worked in between these activities but for the most time weekends are extremely hectic. It's all about staying active.

    • Describe the dorms.

medium sized, but some are out of the way from the action of the campus for freshman. The others are getting better ( new additions and improvements) but for the most part they're just okay.

    • Tell us about your professors.

I feel as though the professors are one of the stronger points of Clarkson. I know several teachers on a first name basis and the professors who teach large classes are easily approachable and available outside class.

    • Describe how your school looks to someone who’s never seen it.

If it's wintertime, it might look pretty. The new buildings are really upping the aesthetics of the place. To be honest, it's not the most wonderful looking campus though.

    • What are your classes like?

I'm communications and media with a minor in digital arts and business. My classes are fun. I enjoy them and they're not too difficult. If you're interested in engineering, the classes greatly increase in difficulty. My brothers and friends are for the most part all engineers, they complain about it being difficult, but they all pass with flying colors regardless.

    • Tell us about the sports scene on campus.

Easy. Hockey. there are other DIII sports teams but our D1 hockey team is by far the biggest sporting event on campus. The hockey team really brings out the school for an exciting time.

    • Tell us about the food and dining options.

The food... I enjoyed it when I lived on campus. It's easy and accessible, but a lot of people complain about it. Personally, I never had a problem with the food but if it's fine dining you're looking for head towards town.

    • Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Going to the hockey games and screaming at the opposing team. One of the oldest, most prevalant past times at Clarkson University

    • Do you feel like you changed a lot?

Clarkson helped me become the person I always dreamed of becoming.
