College Review What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate? The stereotypes really vary from group to group. What is your overall opinion of this school? I love the University of Arkansas and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Fayetteville is a great college town and the area is beautiful. There is a lot of construction right now which is frustrating at times but it also means that the school is growing which is healthy. There is a huge variety of majors and a wonderful faculty. No matter what your passion is you can find a club or group with the same interest. There are all kinds of churches and ministries. The U of A really is a great place to go to school. If I were a senior in high school again knowing everything that I do I would choose Arkansas again in a heart beat. Humphreys and Yocum are probably located best but Humphreys doesn't have air conditioning so Yocum is probably better. Pomfret is great except for the hill you have to hike to get to class so keep that in consideration. The Quads are great and are in the building of the best cafeteria but the suites really take away the community feel of the dorms. Futrall is awesome. I have some family in Fayetteville which made a difference for sure but the campus is probably the greatest factor outside of family that helped me pick the U of A. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year? It's a whole new ball game. College is more than just the next step in school, it's the next step in life and so much changes beyond just the kind of classs you take. It can get a little crazy sometimes but I mean there aren't any weird things that are too common. Basically what you see on a campus visit you can expect to be about the norm. I'd imagine it's going to depend quite a bit from one party to the next. I'd say you're probably going to be alright most of the time. There are also lots of options besides parties of that's not the kind of thing you are into. The Union has events pretty much every weekend, there are lots of campus ministries with things going on, and you can usually find a few folks in the dorm looking for something to do.
