Elon: The Big Picture
I am only from 45 minutes away and I was very worried that I would be too close to home and that I would not want to stay on campus that much. This preconcieved idea is not true at all. Elon University could be considered the "Elon Bubble" because its students enjoy campus life so much! The size of the campus is PERFECT! Walking across campus is enjoyable because you will always see at least one familiar face but I am sure that when I am graduating there will still be so many students in my graduating class that I have never seen before in my life. The town of Elon does not consist of a whole lot but Burlington is only a few minutes away so students can easily travel a short distance to find every other need. There has been a lot of talk about the amount of alcohol use of Elon students, but I am sure the problem just seems larger because the school is small. Students are extremely responsible and this "contraversy" should not be hurting the schools reputation.
When i see tours walking around campus, I have the urge to go up to every kid and tell them how amazing Elon really is. It is so wonderful. I could not see myself more happy at a different university.

Elon Academic Life
I give the academics at Elon an A! The class sizes are perfect! Elon is known for its concentration on Engaged Learning, which I have found to be very apparent in my classes. I always know the names of my professors and they always find ways to learn mine too. I have not had a professor that I could not call at their house if I had any problem or issue. The teachers really care about the students and are always looking for constructive critisism to improve their teaching. I have more than one professor that I go and talk to on a regular basis outside of class about politics and world issues and problems that have recently been in the news.
My favorite class was the Global Experience, which is a mandatory class for every student to have taken to graduate. Each section is taught by a different professor, which means that every students have a different experience in the class. It was the most unique class I have taken so far.
Elon pushes its students to study abroad and get internships, which is one of the reasons why Elon graduates are so well rounded and prepared for getting a job. Although students are definitely looking to get a good job out of college, students enjoy the learning involved throughout the process.
Elon Student Activities + Social Life
Elon has a great social life. Students do not struggle to find things to do as long as they apply themselves and get involved in organizations offered.
I am in a sorority and it has kept me very busy, but I throughly enjoy it because our concentration really is on doing philanthropic work, not just "getting drunk and having a good time."

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ELON AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO STUDENTS ACROSS THE NATION AND INTERNATIONALLY!
