Hobart and William Smith Colleges Summary
What's this?
Hobart and William Smith Colleges have a rich history, a beautiful lakeside campus, and a tight-knit student body.
Hobart and William Smith are two separate schools that make up the coordinate institution, The Colleges of the Seneca. Traditionally the schools were all male and female (respectively), but today students share coed courses and facilities. With the small undergrad population, classes are intimate and students easily get one-on-one time with professors during and after class. HWS requires students to live on campus all four years, so a tight community is formed among peers from all class years. The colleges encourage students to study abroad and about half of the student body leaves the states at some point during their academic career. The sprawling campus is set on the shore of Seneca Lake in the charming town of Geneva, New York. When students want to head off school grounds there are unique eateries and shops downtown and a plethora of outdoor activities to try around the Finger Lakes. It’s an idyllic setting for a collegiate career.
