All students are required to live on campus at Hobart and William Smith as part of the “Residential Education.” The colleges offer traditional residence halls, fraternities, townhouses, and theme houses so students can combat the monotony of a four year living situation. Housing options can be coed, single-sex, or substance free, and rooms are generally laid out in doubles, triples, or quads. The theme houses host students of common interest, with homes for performing arts students, writers, honors students, and even those with an interest in wildlife conservation.
