Lake Forest College  -  Lake Forest

Lake Forest College Summary

What's this?
Lake Forest College offers a vibrant liberal-arts education on the North Shore of Lake Michigan.
Its small student body and residential campus allows for close interaction and collaboration between faculty members and students. Lake Forest also offers a number of innovative education programs that combine academia-oriented classroom lessons with more practical applications, including internships in nearby Chicago and research partnerships with professors. Lake Forest is proud of its low student-to-faculty ratio (12 to 1) and strives to make professors as accessible as possible. It's best known for its communications, English, and psychology programs, although its smaller science departments give students plenty of hands-on lab time. Only about half of students come from in state, and the international student population is growing through administrative recruiting efforts, bringing an increasing amount of diversity to campus. Most students live on campus or in the picturesque Lake Forest suburb (one of the wealthiest in the Chicagoland area), and they tend to divide their free time between on-campus pursuits and parties and off-campus trips to the city.
