Quinnipiac: The Big Picture
I would say that the biggest thing my peers would say about Quinnipiac is that it is a very pretty campus. I know thats a major reason to come here for a lot of people. It is pretty small, and I see people that are in my classes very often just walking around campus. The biggest controversy that I have heard of on the campus have been racial slurs that have apparently happened before, happening in some of the freshmen dorms. I'm really not sure what happened with those, but I know that it was a very big deal to the administration and a lot of the student population, as it should have been. I think most of the complaints from Quinnipiac students is the prices at the cafeteria being too expensive, as well as the school itself being pretty high in price range as well. I know personally, I would love to see more recycling facilities in the dorms and cafeterias.
Quinnipiac Academic Life
Most of my professor do know who I am, and actually take the time to learn my name.
Quinnipiac's Student Body
Quinnipiac is, like I mentioned before predominantly white. The financial backgrounds that I would say are most present are of the upper class, mostly because of the cost of the school. However there may be some students who do not fall into this class, and attend with the help of financial aide and campus jobs. Most Quinnipiac students are from New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Long Island, New Hampshire, maybe Vermont and Rhode Island. I think that being a student that is not white will feel a little out of place here because of the overwhelming population of white students. There are however many groups that would appeal to many different ethnic and racial backgrounds on campus that one could attend.
Quinnipiac Student Activities + Social Life
My hall is very friendly, most doors were closed the first few weeks, but open the rest of the year. People here party Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Though it's not like there is going to be a party in every room or anything, there are the normal Frat parties, hockey/lacrosse parties etc. Saturday night there is mostly something to do that doesn't involve drinking. My roommates and I usually order out from Dominoes or Drougies and watch Sex in the City or Grey's Anatomy. There are usually movies showing in Buckman or something going on around campus that is student run. If I were to be awake on a Tuesday at 2AM, I would probably be watching TV in my room, or a friends room, studying or browsing the internet.
Quinnipiac Naked Truth
Consider the type of person you are, if you like a decent party scene, with a lot of scantily dressed women, the smell of booze, and drunken screaming, than you could consider Quinnipiac. If you come from a wealthy family, and can afford it, it's a great education with connections to jobs and the "outside world". The communications, business and health sciences here at QU are phenomenal. If you aren't planning on majoring in any of those, than why spend all that money? Come to QU for the name, and the reputation it has in those areas of study.
