Quinnipiac: The Big Picture
The campus is beautiful around the academic buildings, then they stop caring about the landscaping by the residence halls. The academics are great! My professors all had real world experience. Hamden as a whole hates QU kids (namely because seniors have to live off campus). No one where I was from had ever heard of QU. Administration does not listen to or truly care to take the time to get to know the student body. Our president can say some idiotic things at public events. The sports center is incredible. I had horrible roommates two years straight - part of the problem is the horrible housing system (lottery) that is set up...it breaks friendships apart because people are selfish enough to choose getting into a room over friends.
Quinnipiac Academic Life
Great! I like that it's a balance of you major and liberal arts courses. I feel I gained a wealth of knowledge. Great professors who care about students. Classes are small. The international business staff of the business school is awful.
Quinnipiac's Student Body
Very populated with white Catholics from Mass, NY, CT and New Jersey. Not really friendly and a bit selfish. But some are highly involved and giving. Very small gay community. Students wear anything to class but the majority of girls "dress up" especially when it gets nice out. But they have their coach rain boots for the bad weather too. Financial background is mostly upper middle class. We were voted "most politically apathetic" in the Princeton Review...but being connected to the polling institute, the administration likes it that way.
Quinnipiac Student Activities + Social Life
Lot's of things to get involved with! Radio, TV, honor societies, charitable groups, small greek life, Res. Life, Dance Company, Cheerleading, Hip Hop and step groups, business groups, alternative spring break trips, etc. Athletic events at TD Bank North are popular but they give away too many seats to non-students. Lot's of great guest speakers. Dating scene sucks.
Quinnipiac Naked Truth
If I could do it all over again, I would have gone to a bigger school. But I don't regret going to QU...I learned a lot about dealing with difficult people ;)
