What are some stereotypes about St. Joe's students?

St. Joe's is considered a school made up of kids that didn't get into nova; which is bullshit, cuz i got into nova and know a bunch of other kids did too. the school gives out tons of scholarship money and so practically everyone is on scholarship. we're all preppy, white, and identical. it's really small but we love each other.

Are the stereotypes accurate?

pretty much

St. Joe's: The Big Picture

best thing about st joes: my friends, the campus in the spring (it's a really pretty campus, and with the new buildings and renonvaations going up its just gunna get better), the bars in manayunk
one thing i'd change: the GER courses
school is too small but i like it that way
if people are from philly, St Joes is golden. outside of PA & jersey, it's "Oh.. you go where?"
Philly is a college town, there are so many colleges in philly. there's a healthy rivarly going on.
the administration is obsessed with improving the school's name & the "path to preeminence"..some teachers are awesome, others blow.
biggest recent controversy: last year there were some racism issues. my soc teacher commented on those issues by saying that st joes was like a plantation, all the white kids went to school & the black people cleaned the floors & cooked the food. he wasn't being racist, but commenting on the lack of diversity at the school.
there's some school pride

St. Joe's Academic Life

Professors always know your name. My favorite class was creative writing, least favorite, statistics. Students study about an hour a night, a couple hours a week. Class participation is common when the work load isn't heavy. There's a lot of speakers and lectures on campus and stuff if you wanted to have an intellectual convo outside of class. Students are definitely competitive; internships in philly are competitive because of all the schools. education at st joes is definitely geared towards learning for its own sake, unless your an education or business major.

In Closing ...

What's the worst thing about St. Joe?

The best thing about St. Joe's is how much of a community atmosphere has been built here. I transferred from George Washington University because I felt lost in the school,...

St. Joes is the perfect medium size school with about 1000 kids per class! A lot of kids come from Maryland, Virgina, Pennslyvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Massachutes....
