The University of New Haven is a small, private institution with nationally recognized undergraduate programs and a location straight out of the Great Gatsby.
Sitting atop a hill overlooking the Long Island Sound, UNH is surprisingly diverse for its size of 3,200 undergrads. The university enrolls students from 35 states and 45 countries, 75% of whom live on campus. UNH was founded in 1920, and today is best known for its programs in engineering, music and forensic science. Professors, 90% of whom have PhDs and real-world experience in their field, emphasize experiential education. Students get personal attention in small classes, and there are over 80 student clubs and organizations. UNH’s beautiful, green campus is located minutes from the beach the city of New Haven.
