University of New Haven's mascot is the Charger, a medieval war horse. UNH offers 18 NCAA Division II sports, the most popular being football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, baseball and softball, and men’s and women’s soccer. A large number of students also engage in club and intramural sports, with a variety of exercise classes offered in the gym.
