As a teacher and a college counselor, I say: "Why would you want to speed such an important process up?" Approach your recommendation writer well in advance of your application to college. Also, provide your recommendation writer with a resume so that they may mention things about you that they were unaware of. It is also a good idea to provide your writer (if they are one of your teachers) with samples of successful papers you wrote in their course. It will give them fresh examples to use within your recommendation letter. Time is crucial to composing a meaningful and descriptive recommendation for you. I urge you not to rush this process or wait until the last minute to ask someone to write a recommendation for you.
