What should students know about studying abroad?

Students should consider studying abroad to help expose themselves to other cultures and learn how other institutions across the world provide classroom study and respect differences. Additionally, the opportunity to meet and make friends from across the world and to travel to unseen lands is priceless and something to share and remember as you begin your future as a civic minded adult.

What’s covered by financial aid, where & w/whom they’ll be staying, dates in, vacation times if any, dates out, that any medical conditions or dietary restrictions will be met. They should have a checklist & make sure every possible issue will be met.

don’t assume you knows everything

it is always smart to learn everything first hand. if you have the right mind, you should consider nothing is the same as to what we have or how do we operate here. for example, if you are going to China, the communist country as your destine, you will need to learn a lot more before you taking such risk. you must have list of phone numbers, copy of your passport, and money access no matter what for emergency. you also should keep close contact with your family, friends, now it’s not the right time to be isolated or disconnect. you then should try to learn the language as much as possible and have close friends to help you oversea.

International Experience

is such an important part of your resume. In order to gain global perspective you should try to take advantage of this opportunity. It will change your life–whether you learn a new language through immersion or about a culture completely different from your own. If you want to discover your roots or make a difference in an under-developed part of the world, this is really the time to explore. Work with your college to attend a pre-approved program so that your financial aid should be useable and so that you can attain credits during your sojourn abroad. Start exploring the possibilities early so that you do not miss deadlines.
