It’s pretty neat that at Brandeis we have free WiFi connectivity all over campus. This includes inside the dorms and everywhere outside on the campus.

Best place to grab a late night meal: Ollie’s Eatery
Opened last year, Ollie’s Eatery offers burgers, fries, milkshakes and omelets every Wednesday through Sunday from 10 pm to 3 am. Ollie’s located in the campus pub The Stein. Every week the university holds a game night, sponsoring bingo, trivia or karaoke in a fun, friendly environment.

Best place to get coffee: Chum’s
Located in Brandeis’ famous Castle, Cholmondeley’s coffee house (known lovingly as Chum’s) serves coffee, tea, ice cream and snacks. Chum’s, the inspiration for Central Perk on Friends, offers live entertainment most nights a week.

Best place to study: Shapiro Campus Center Reading Room
Open 24 hours, the reading room in the Shapiro Campus Center is a two-story room where students go to read in quite—right in the hustle and bustle of the campus center. The room also has a large computer bank and printers, making the trip to the library optional.

Best place to nap between classes: Peace Room
Part of the department of Peace, Conflict and Coexistence Studies, the Peace Room, located in the Usdan Student Center, is a room designed for quite meditation. Students also frequently use this room for quick naps. Located between the humanities and science quads, the Peace Room is convenient and calming.

Best place to take your parents when they’re visiting: Solea
Located on Moody Street, Solea serves tapas, small dishes from Spain, Argentina, Portugal and Chile. The dishes are perfect for sharing, the per person price makes it a bit expensive for everyday meals but Solea is perfect for special occasions. Be sure to check out Solea and if your parents can pay, it’s even better!

Best Ethnic Food: Moody Street
Located about a mile from campus in the heart of Waltham, Massachusetts, Moody Street is about four blocks packed with ethnic restaurants.  You can find four different Indian restaurants, three places for sushi, an Asian fusion joint,   Fusion, two Latin American restaurants, a couple of  pubs, and an all American BBQ.

Best Place to go for all your printing needs: International Cultural Center
It’s an open secret at Brandeis that while printing is 10 cents a page in the library, printing at the International Cultural Center (ICC),!

Best spot on campus for a photo op: Justice Brandeis Statue
The statue honoring the school’s namesake, Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, is a perfect place for photos all during the year. Take a picture of the first snow with the Justice, who is often dressed up for cold weather or special campus themed events.

Best place on campus to get some sun: Massell Quad- Yakus Pond
When it’s sunny outside, the best place to catch the sun is on the banks of Yakus Pond in Massell Quad. On sunny, warm spring days, students bring towels and radios down to the pond and lie out and read. It’s the perfect spring activity that allows for fresh air while doing homework!
