Here at Unigo HQ, we've been working hard on different marketing initiatives over the past month, all with the express goal of getting you more chats. And we wanted to let you in on what's been going on behind the scenes. We launched an intensive SEM (Search Engine Marketing) campaign in order to promote live chats with individual experts, as well as college students. An SEM campaign is essentially an attempt to promote one's own website in search engine results. When people search for college admissions help on Google, we want Unigo's experts and their profiles to be the first results they see! We've also launched a large-scale online advertising campaign on the New York Times, Washington Post, College Confidential, and over 100,000 other websites, trying to target our users into returning to the site and also expose Unigo to new users.

While we're working hard to increase your presence around the Internet, there are a few things you can do to increase your presence on Unigo. We've found that, historically, the three most commonly searched topics on Unigo during the month of May are Finding the Right College, Boarding School Students, and The Application. Answer questions related to these topics on Unigo to increase your visibility on those topic pages. Prospective students and their parents who are browsing those pages over the next month will see your face first.

We're also focusing our attention on helping high school juniors who might be just beginning the college admissions process. Topic pages that are most relevant to juniors (aside from those listed above) include Saving for College, Financial Aid Basics, and How to Evaluate Colleges. Seniors will be excited to finalize their choice and start preparing for freshman year, so they may benefit from our Campus Life, College Freshman 101, and College Budgeting topics.
