Ellen M. Buchart Scholarship

The Ellen M. Buchart Scholarship was named in memory and honor of the late Ellen Buchart. Ellen served Kentucky Public Health Association (KPHA) in many capacities, including as a past President. This scholarship will be administered by KPHA in the amount of $2,000 and is payable at the rate of $1,000 per semester paid directly to the student’s school to provide general academic assistance for one year.

The Theodore “Ted” Hanekamp Scholarship was named in memory of and honor of Theodore “Ted” Hanekamp who devoted his entire career to public health. Arkansas Public Health Association Scholarship for High School Seniors

This award is available for high school seniors in Arkansas who plan to major in a field related to public health. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate unmet financial need.

Connie Scheffer Public Health Endowed Scholarship

This award is available for U.S. nursing students who are residents of Kansas and attend a college or university in Kansas. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship committee shall consider the following priorities in making scholarship recommendations to the board of trustees: registered nurses pursuing a bachelor’s of science in the public health setting; graduate and postgraduate students in public health nursing or public health.

CANFit Undergraduate Scholarship

This award is available for minority students who are currently enrolled in a fitness or nutrition program at an accredited California college or university. The applicant must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and have completed at least 50 credit hours toward his/her degree at the time of application.

NEHA/AAS Scholarship

This award is for U.S. students majoring in environmental health who are enrolled in an approved college/university that is accredited by the Environmental Health Accreditation Council or is a NEHA Educational or Sustaining Member School. Catherine E. Philbin Public Health Scholarship

This scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students who are legal residents of Massachusetts. Students must be studying public health.

Florence Young Memorial Scholarship

This award is for U.S. graduate students who are enrolled in a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native tribe. Students must be pursuing a degree in art, law, or medicine.

Tylenol Future Care Scholarship

This scholarship is available to residents of the U.S., Puerto Rico and D.C. who have completed one or more years of a healthcare major. The applicants will be judged on leadership qualities and academic performance.
