Margaret Chase Smith Public Affairs Scholarship

Each academic year the MCS Public Affairs Scholarship is awarded to one or two UMaine undergraduates who propose an independent research project relevant to public policy in Maine. Scholarship students apply in April and work with a faculty advisor throughout the following year to conduct their research. The students then present their work in the spring at the UMaine Student Research Symposium.

Maine Dental Education Loan Program

This forgivable loan program is open to Maine students who are admitted to a program of dentistry at an accredited institution of dental education, leading to a D.M.D. or D.D.S degree. Recipients must practice general dentistry full time in an underserved area of Maine in an eligible dental care facility to qualify for loan forgiveness.

Carol Stephens SWE Region F Scholarship

This scholarship is open to U.S. female college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are majoring in engineering or computer science and are members of SWE. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; first preference will be given to students who attend schools within SWE Region F, and second preference will be given to students with home addresses within SWE Region F.

Betty Lou Bailey SWE Region F Scholarship

This scholarship is open to female U.S. college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are members of SWE and majoring in engineering or computer science. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; first preference is given to students attending school within the Region F boundaries, while second preference is given to students with a home address within the Region F boundaries.

Annette M. Brown Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is available for residents of Androscoggin County, Maine. Applicants must have unmet financial need and must be attending or planning to attend a college or university in Maine.

Byron Blanchard, N1EKV Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is open to international and U.S. licensed radio amateurs who reside in the ARRL New England Division area (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont and Maine).

University of Maine Buxton-Hollis Community Hospital, Inc. Fund

This scholarship is available for current undergraduate students at the University of Maine. Applicants must reside in Buxton or Hollis, Maine and pursue a major in nursing or pre-medicine.
