By attending the University of Turabo I have a sense of fulfillment, grow more as a person and adquire knowledge that I did not have before. I have also become more confident, whereas in the past I was painfully shy. Now, I am able to give out presentations in front of a large group of people. In this educational facility I have made a diversity of friends with different aspirations and motivations. My college peers have inspired me to follow up on my dreams with persistence and to see the value of them where others may not. Even though I am surrounded by many people who are studying different areas, we all strive to get ahead in life and make the world a better place. If I have learned anything it is that few people see the benefit of a college education. At times an education is considered costly or difficult to maintain while you are working. All in all, my college experience has been very enlightening and made me more confident of what kind of professional I want to be in the future. By studying in the field of public health I hope to contribute positively to society.
I would have loved for my high school counseler to have been more supportive of my professional future. I did not know what I was going to study at the time. When it came to my future in the university, the high school counseler did not bother pointing me into the right direction. Thankfully, my school social worker, english and science teacher were there to fill in. They would give my classmates aptitude tests, help fill out paper work and inform us. Presently, I am in the process of my bachelors degree in nursing.
The university I am currently attending is very comfortable, interesting and pro-student. The professionals teach you with firsthand knowledge and experience. Each are well informed on their professional fields and other areas you may be interested in. Though many people may find this educational facility expensive, the quality of education received is considered to be the best. The college campus has a variety of activities from which one can participate in such as swimming, Honor Club, track team, basketball, volleyball, tennis, chearleading, the ACS (American Chemical Society), tutoring, SIFE (Students for Free Enterprising) and job offers within the university.
