Morgan

If were able to give myself a "heads up" when I was in my last year of high school about what college life would be like at first, I would tell myself, "Expect struggle, but know you can do it. The choices you make will definitely determine how heavy the world seems on your shoulders." I was too confident when I entered college my first semester, I expected it to be just like high school. It was not at all. The course work and significance of studying was immensely amplified. The fact that I felt that college would be a breeze also affected the choices I made. "I don't need to study, I'm the type of person that doesn't have to study, I absorbed it all in class." However, that was not the case. Lectures only provided general revision of topics, the rest of the understanding was up to the student to do when they had time out of class. My grades slid down a steep hill in the beginning and it seemed almost impossible to carry it back up the hill. It took tons of effort. It impacted my grades, but also left me emotionally drained.
