I am not yet attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts just yet but I have been impressed by them in previous months. For instance, I attended a theatre conference in which one of the instructors were teaching there. I attended the workshop and within an hour, she was able to teach me so much. I learned how important physicalization is to theatre. In addition to, I learned some basic tools and techniques that can make it easier to characterize how a character moves which is really significant to me as an actress.

The American Academy of Dramatic Arts is a wonderful conservatory. I was able to learn and grow so much as an actor and as an individual. Now, I can free myself creatively and let go of the inner judge. I'm having fun with what I'm doing and I've noticed such a huge progress since I've moved to Los Angeles and started this full-time program. The most valuable thing I've learned so far was to trust and to be truthful. It sounds so simple, but it's actually hard work. The teachers are tough, but kind and patient. I've had the chance to meet my best friends here and I'm having the best time of my life. It definitely was the best choice I've ever made and I'm so happy about it.

There's so much to be said about AADA but let me start with how absolutely amazing the education here his. The teachers are highly trained professionals with massive amounts of experience under their belts and are focused on each individual student's growth. I couldn't have asked for a better school to be a part of.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    i wish i could have taken my education more seriously. I was more worried about how people thought about me and worried the partying sence rather then my education. i f i could have put more effort and focuse on my education i beileve i could have recieved a lot more help and i could of recieved more scholarships. I have 2 younger siblings and i make sure that i tell them that there education is important and that they are needed to do well so that different schools can give them a free ride.

  3. What kind of person should not attend this school?

    If your a student that is not eager to learn and does not do work out side of class then the your education will not exspand. The teachers gives you the tools that are needed. The students themself need to want to work. Nothing can improve unless you work on your performance. Students that ditch are not acceptible. AMDA has a policy of ditching if you miss more then 4 class sessions you will be dropped and needed to repeat the course. Homework is also being given and if the work isnt done the teachers will think pourly of you.

    I love it's location and living the big city life. It is a good place to start off on your own in life, and a great place to explore as a young adult.

    My school is best known for taking people who already have the drive to perform, and the love of it, and refining their talents so that they may one day go out into the industry and work in the field that they have a passion for. The teachers are all professionals who are working in the industry and only want to pass on their knowlegde. Everyone is doing what they love on a daily basis, therefore everyone is happy and lucky to be there each and every day.

    My school is great for people who wish to enhance the world around them through the use of dramatic and performing arts. People who should consider coming to my school are those who are creative, risk takers, problem solvers, and believers. I say believers because I feel that you have to believe every minute of every day that you deserve to be there doing what you love, which is sharing your love of performing with the rest of the world. If this is your passion then you most certainly belong here.

  12. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

    The college that i'm attending has excelent faculity. The teachers are helpful any possible way. The structure of the schedule is also fair and leaves time for stuents to do other performances outside of class. As far as Fincial aid, i feel its not as organized as they should be. Dorming situation is good and the droms are located near the campus and is walking distatence. The American Muscial & Dramatic campus is very well put together. there is only 2 different building that being used. The school its self is excelent and the training is hardcore. I enjoy AMDA.
