What kind of person should attend this school?

Anyone who is able to get in! Amherst is amazing for a huge variety of people, from those who simply want to study all the time to get into med school to those who want to party every night to those who want to explore a variety of interests before settling in a career goal. The only person I would tell NOT to apply there is someone who wants to get a practical career a.s.a.s, such as nursing or engineering. The financial aid is such that anyone can attend regardless of ability to pay.

Anyone can find a place here. This is an awesome college with amazing people and professors. There are only very rare cases where someone is not satisfied.

Individuals who prefer small schools with a close-knit student community--you may not know everyone's name but you'll know their major and their friend group. People who like to be challenged by their professors, their peers and who like to push themselves as well. This institution can be as easy or as hard as you make it--the people who challenged themselves, however, got more out of it. Most of the students are outspoken and have clear views, os people who won't be intimadated by this.
