The most popular groups are fraternities ans sororities because they do a handful of advertising. However, a tradition is the undie run that is taken place at the end of the year where students donate their outfit to charity strip off and run in their undies on the last day of school! Also, students are very engaged in sports and the most popular one is Football in our batlle against our territorial rival, University of Arizona. In their free time students also hike the A mountain which is 2 blocks from the ASU Tempe campus.

I would say the athletics- it is a huge draw to be a part of a school that is not only national ranking for academics, but the athletic boost is another huge draw.

The gym at the Sun Devil Fitness Center (SDFC) is always packed, intramural sports are always going on under the lights, and numerous clubs and groups are always getting together. Fraternities and Sororities might not be the best option for you, as it wasn't for me, if you respect women, don't want to drink 3-4 times a night during your freshman year, and want to focus on your academics. There are multitudes of groups out there that will provide the sense of brotherhood that the fraternities promise. The fraternities and sororities are the most talked about groups on campus nonetheless.

There are a plenty of student orgs/ teams in all fields desired. I am involved with American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Students for exploration and development of space, AIAA, etc.. They are big orgs which are very active and have links with big industries and have a lot of talented people inside them. It depends, if someone is not concerned about privacy they might keep doors open. Guest speakers are very popular. Athletic events like football, basketball are immensely popular. There are many couples inside campus and they are quite open about it from the scenes on campus. But there is no offensive or unethical activities on campus. I met my closest friends in classes. I generally study late night to be honest because of busy schedule in the day time and that is very common with many students. There are plenty of cultural and fun filled activities that go on inside ASU. Its really Big. People generally party during weekends. Fraternities and sororities are quite and are always open for interested students. But it is optional. Last weekend I completed my assignments and had fun with friends, watched movies, etc.. Watching movies, long drive with friends, etc... Go to friends' houses who live off campus, visit places of attractions, various restaurants, etc..

AMA, SBA, I'm not awake at 2 am on a Tuesday, I like to eat fro yo and people choose to party often but I am not one of them. I spend time at things like Football, Basketball games and MU after dark.

Sporting events are a big deal here, especially football. There is always tailgaiting before the football games, and there is so much energy in the stadium they are a lot of fun. And there is always parties around campus. If you do not want to drink, on Friday nights there are free events in the Memorial Union for students.

I'm not huge on the social life at Asu, but from what I have seen, football games are a big deal on campus. There are also a lot of parties, alcohol consumption, and drug use. People may think that being in the honors college will deter some of these habits, but the honors students party just as hard as the general student body. There are also a lot of parties in apartments just off campus every weekend. If you aren't into partying, there are also other things to do with the weekends and evenings. The union has movie nights, karaoke nights, pool, and bowling. It is also easy to take the light rail into Phoenix, where there is an abundance of social things to do.

The most popular groups will be fraternity and sorority i suppose. I am involved with PERMIAS Phoenix which is an Indonesian Student Association of Arizona Phoenix. I stayed in dorms for 2 semesters and they liked to leave their door to attract attention. ASU has a lot of guest speakers coming to speak, Theatre events are also oftenly presented in ASU, not to mention there is Gammage Auditorium for bigger events. I like to go to nearby restaurants and hang out with my close friends. If i am awake at 2am on a tuesday, i usually go to my friends room and hang out for a bit. Each year, there are many traditions and events happen on campus, they are international night, World Festival and so on. People here party hard! That is why this school is named Party School. I personally think that fraternities/sororities are not so important. I think its because i still do not know about them. Most people in the dorm joined fraternities. It seems fun to me.

My fraternity takes up the majority of my time, but in the past I was part of a mixed martial arts club that was very fun. My other friends have gotten involved with an a Capella group, ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball. Organizations in college are all about pursuing your interests and having fun. They are also the best way to meet people.

I am not too sure what the "most popular" student groups are campus-wide, since it seems like everything is split up by majors. I would say that the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), is a very important group for pre-medical students, though. This group is super helpful. There are constantly guest speakers, who help us with the pre-medical journey, writing our personal statements, even talking to actual medical students. I believe in March they will actually be holding a mock MCAT, which would be super conducive to our future.

There is really no "most popular" club. There is just so much going on, you can find any club that suits your interests. ASU has been able to attract an above average about of guest speakers. I would like for there to be more though, and some events have a caps on the amount of people that are allowed in an event. No one warns you when you go off to college that finding friends just as good as your ones from back home would be so hard. I found two very close friends of mine at the gym. Strange place to meet people, but in the beginning of the semester every body is looking for friends. I found other friends through classes. Where I met my best friends however was when I rushed a sorority. Greek Life at ASU isn't huge but definitely exists. I was having a very hard time adjusting at first so I figured I would rush since I had nothing to loose. I am now in Alpha Chi Omega and met all my best friends through the sorority. We do a lot of things all together on the weekends. For example, last night about 20 of us went to Tempe Marketplace and saw the midnight showing of The Vow. It was so much fun and the movie was great. Tempe marketplace is really close and has a lot of shopping and restaurants. Students go their often and it's easy to get to because ASU offers buses to take you there. Another common spot is Mill Avenue. It's close enough to walk, however you can just take the Light Rail as well. There are so many things to do off campus as there is on campus. On the weekends the MU offers "MU After Dark" and they have fun comedy shows and things like that. Other student activities include going to Football and Basketball games, laying out in the sun at the SRC or going to the fun concert that is being set up on the soccer lawn right now! The All American Rejects are setting up to play tonight and this is not the first time famous people have been on our campus. There is ALWAYS something to do and it's so much fun.

The most popular activities and groups on campus vary greatly. Football and other sports games encourage students across campus to come out. Sports drive much of the student body with Student Alumni Association groups as well as cheerleaders. Tailgates, pep-rallies and more encourage students to participate in college events with constant reminders and notifications around campus it isnt hard to stay involved. The inter murals offer fun activities for all sport levels. There are amazing theater opportunities, art galleries, guest speakers and more. Every year huge amounts of students join in the Undie-run, the Pat-Tilman run, and more. There are snow events, winter concerts and more. There are parties every night and Greek life is present but not extremely important. Groups are formed for everything imaginable from academic honors, to Harry Potter clubs and Snow Devils.

The most popular organizations on campus, in my opinion, are Greek. That is very biased because I am part of it and that is all I am surrounded by. I have joined other organizations, whether they were for my academics, to help high school students, to become a mentor, etc but greek has stood out the most. A lot of my time is dedicated to my sorority and there is always something to do since we focus on community service off campus. On my free time I just do homework and hang out with my family.

Although ASU has a mediocre Greek life on campus, I feel like most students are affiliated with it.

The people I am involved with is a class full of 30 future teachers. We all absolutely are tolerent and friendly to one another. Althetic events are a fun way for all the students to get together. I love attending football games and getting tickets for friends to join. There are always block parties before and they are full of food and music. Halloween/ homecoming is a huge deal. Homecoming is the day before halloween but the festivities start a week early. They start with decorating the campuses windows and having a haunted house. This is the best time of the year to be a sun devil!

ASU is such a fun place to be! There is something for everyone here. Because it's such a big school, anyone can find their place. Off campus, the city of Tempe is vibrant. The Phoenix metro area is big and full of lots to do. It's hard to get bored here.

The recreational center is huge and has every activity you can think of. There is fencing, yoga, ping pong, kickboxing, karate, bellydancing, tango dancing-- everything. That is the benefit of a big school. Phoenix is a metropolitan city, too, so if you have a car (which I recommend), you can find pretty much anything to do, be it going to clubs or going to the Opera. In fact, there is a respected theater and opera hall on campus that provides discounted last-minute tickets.

I never got involved in the party scene. You could say I was too nerdy for that. I just hang out with like minded friends. Now I live with my boyfriend and my dog Olga so we rarely go to Mill avenue. I am graduating early and getting a minor + certificate on top of it. I don't think I missed out on anything not partying. Working in the hospital, I see what "hardcore" partying can do to you, it isn't pretty. Fraternities/Sororities are being phased out on campus. Their buildings are being torn down. Both my brother and sister belonged to one around 15 years ago and they state the atmosphere has turned greatly against fraternities/sororitises.

I personally do not have a big social life being a devil, but going to parties and getting wasted seems to be "a hit" with a lot of the other students.

At ASU the dorm life is a lot of fun. You meet so many people living in the dorms and you meet your best friends there too. I lived in the Palo Verde East dorm in the North Campus community, which als includes Palo Verde West and Main, and Manzanita. The dorm experience that I had was a little less than perfect but I wouldn't trade it for anything. In the PV East dorm I met people that will be friends for life. The first room that I lived in was on the 3rd floor and the whole floor pretty much became a big family. We'd leav our doors open and people would just come in and out to hang out and relax. Then when I moved to the 2nd floor of the building I met the people who are now my best friends. When I met my suite mate, Leta, we were best friends right from the beginning. And it was because of her that I met the guys who lived next door to her, who also became two of my best friends. My friends and I do everything together, the six of us are basically a family at this point and if we could have found a six bedroom house we would have all lived together. At 2am I don't think any of us are ever asleep, even on weekdays. We're always up late watching movies or studying for exams together or just hanging out and talking about random stuff. The dating scene at ASU is huge at ASU. I think we even had a singles page on facebook. It was pretty much go after whoever you want, whether you wanted a hookup with no strings attached or a serious relationship, you could find it at ASU. I met my boyfriend at ASU when I played for the women's collegiate water polo team. He played for them men's club team and our two teams went on a tubing trip down the salt river. We spent the whole six hour trip talking about just about anything we could think of, and by the next weekend we were dating. So a great way to meet people is to get involved in extra curricular activites that you enjoy because you'll meet someone who shares some of the same interests as you do so you already have a connection. Now for the party scene. Yes there are a lot of parties, most of which are hosted by the fraternities or sororities. But other people have house parties or just invite a few friends over to have fun. AS for how often people party, it really depends on who you ask. If you ask a fraternity brother, its every night. But if you asked me, its usually only on the weekends. But even if you're not into drinking there's always something fun to do. At Tempe Marketplace, which is just a mile away from campus there's a movie theater that you can go to, or there are a number of bowling allies in the area which are always fun to go to on a saturday night for glow in the dark bowling, just make sure you make a reservation before you go.

Extremely social school and hundreds of activities, it isn't hard to find a group to hang out with. Fraternity and Sorority life is fairly large however the school seems to hate them with a passion .

The social life is fun. Many stuff to do around the city. I love sports there are many opportunities to go to sporting events.

Check out the unusual student organizations, like the sustainability groups, the human rights activists, the feminists (they're actually quite friendly), the queer/straight ally sorority, the queer fraternity, the Jewish fraternities, the community service sorority, the minority (Hispanic, Black) sororities and fraternities, the odd lectures, plays on-campus, festivals, events held by student organizations, especially the ones with a cause.

I lived in an outside dorm (ocotillo) so most people kept their doors closed. In other doors they were open especially during the first couple of weeks but, as the year progressed people didn't need to leave their doors open because they had already made friends. This year the favorite guess speaker was probably Obama. The dating scene is mixed a lot of people prefer to be single in the begining of the first semester and the end of second semester. People are more inclined to be commited in the time inbetween because they realized they would rather get some on a consist basis instead of hoping they'll find somebody at a random party that weekend. If I'm awake at 2am I am most likely lying in my bed not sleeping because I have too much shit on my mind or a lot of school work/tests in the near future. The traditions our school celebrates are Homecoming, spring break trips in Mexico, salt river trips, the undie run, pats run, etc. People party every day of the week except for sunday, usually. The most popular nights are thurs. through saturday but any night of the week is game. Its easier to party when your older because you can get into bars but when your under 21 you usually have to look for a party of get a fake ID. Frats and Sororities are somewhat important but, there usually considered a joke here because they don't hold the same standards as other frats in other places. People usually think differently about people that are in those organizations but they don't hold the kind of weight like they do on the south of east coast. Last weekend I floated down the river with a lot of people. I havent done much on a sat night that doesnt involve drinking but you can make it a personal choice not to drink if you want. Off campus I go out to eat, shop, and travel etc.

I am currently a member of a sorority and it is everything I could have asked for and more. It keeps me involved with the school and gives me a chance to meet tons of people! Greek life is HUGE on the tempe campus! When I was living in the dorms my entire floor became close in the begining and throughout the year everyone lef their doors open. But DO NOT DATE ANYONE ON YOUR FLOOR!!!!!! =) My RA warned all of us in the begining and no one listened and we earned our lesson! Ha You will start to be up at 2am throughout the week, your sleep schedule will be so off and first semester you will party way to much, just be careful with going to class. A lot of people think they do not need to go, but it shows when your grades come! The football games were some of the best times I had on campus, but also the other games such as baseball and basketball are fun too! (the season pass is definitly worth it!)

The social life is amazing at Arizona State. There is so much to do in the city and there are a lot of single human beings. I love Tempe, it's an awesome place to be socially, especially since it's centered around the college atmosphere, but there are parts of Tempe that cater to other crowds. Phoenix is a diverse and large city, there's something for everyone.

I've only really been involved in AIAA and a bit in SHPE (Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers). There are a lot of great groups on campus for everyone. Fraternities have their niche market. The dorms have updated security to help prevent thefts. Athletic events are very popular. I met my closest friends in class. We became close when joking around in homework groups. You can only think about engineering for so long before getting a little "crazy". If you're awake on a Tuesday at 2am you're probably drinking after a big exam. It's an engineering tradition.

Athletic events are fairly popular- I've been unable to distinguish if the popularity is among students or the community. Students in doors would be wise NOT to leave their doors open- several women were attacked in their dorms and nearby apartments this year.

I am not involved with any groups or organizations at ASU.

There are tones of activities that can get you active with ASU. I would recommend that any freshmen’s that are coming to ASU stay in the dorms. I loved it! Everyone was so friendly and I met so many new people, there was always someone to study with or go out to lunch with. Also, there were always people at the fields playing volleyball or baseball and the pool is always packed.
