One of the things I find most interesting about ASU is the number of ways they try and support you. From assigning a "success coach" to emailing with updates, to providing multiple opportunities to interact with other students and faculty members. If you have a question or an issue, there is somebody there to help. I never felt alone in trying to navigate the system, and I truly believe they are committed to helping me succeed.

In the short amount of time I have been at ASU, I have experienced both the ups and downs of college life. I didn't have much of a support system going into ASU, but the resources and people that I have found have made me realize that college life isn't so bad. Better than that, they made me realize that college life is what I make it to be. Being a freshman, I'm very fortunate to having found a somewhat balance between my academic and social life. I look forward to going to class and being engaged with what's going on, something that has honestly never happened to me before, just as much as looking forward to going out with friends to football or basketball games. Thanks to the people and resources at ASU, I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to the next 4 year and what they bring along the way.

To say Arizona State University's reputation as a party school is well known would be an understatement. ASU students consistently throw some of the best parties I have ever been to. With this in mind however ASU excels in so many other areas; from the academics, resources provided for students and even transportation system ASU truly offers a comprehensive college life. Through academics Arizona State has quietly been producing some of the scholars in the country. Sun Devil graduates have been not only been known to succeeded in their profession but have also gone above and beyond the call to further the quality of life for society as a whole. Yet while our graduates have been exceeding expectations throughout the world our undergraduates have also made huge impacts on the world. With the help of cutting edge technology provided by ASU my peers have easily discovered the unknown of our universe with our partnership with NASA to further satellite technology. On a more tangible basis, the Cronkite School of Mass Media and Journalism at ASU have consistently covered the most important news stories throughout the world. All this research and innovation have come from the hard work of undergraduates. Some may see this as only a product of the "smartest" Sun Devils, but this is untrue. All students are offered research positions and are required through coursework to come up with solutions for many problems humanity faces today. Graduates such as Pat Tillman, Kate Spade, Temple Grandin and Jimmy Kimmel are only the tip of a large iceberg of great people to walk the halls of our great institution. ASU is not known for its academics, its students get a lot of slack for even wanting to attend a school with the reputation ASU has. But through first hand experience I know Arizona State University produces the best scholars and citizens humanity has to offer.

Arizona state university is an extraordinary schools who gives hopes to people who believed they could never receive a higher education. I have been in special education my whole life and and never believed I would get a college degree. Arizona state university changed that.

Arizona state university provides a positive and diverse environment that I find beneficial, especially in my area of study. The downtown location provides multiple opportunities for me to make professional connections and obtain volunteer opportunities which will further my ability to gain acceptance to graduate programs.

I feel like ASU just like any other universities, has its ups and downs. If you're the type of person that tends to look for resources and not wait for them to get to you, then ASU is your place. If you're the type of person that is used to have everything handed to you in a silver plate (or whatever is the phrase), I wouldn't recommend attending this school. I have noticed that many say that there are not enough resources for students… but that is definitely not true… you just have to look and since there are so many, limiting yourself to only those that you really need, is what becomes challenging. Something I absolutely loved is the fact that you're free to be exactly the way you want to be (just keep in mind that your group of friends can and WILL influence a lot on your personality). I'm not saying nobody will judge you, but you'll find there are more like you, so you'll care less what there might be said about you (if anything at all due to the size of the school... you'll be one between MANY). To put it in the simplest terms – if you’re pretty, there will always be someone prettier than you. If you’re weird, there will ALWAYS be someone weirder than you. The same goes for everything else. ESPECIALLY if you’re smart…. There will always be someone smarter than you. The overall experience in this university is great as long as you try to make it enjoyable. As I mentioned before, it's a huge school, and you have to seek for the individualized attention and help. Classes’ sizes vary from course to course. Usually the classes related to psychological science (psychology, sociology, anthropology and all those) are in auditoriums since SO MANY PEOPLE TAKE THEM AND ARE REQUIRED FOR MOST MAJORS (sucks because you have to pay for them but some are actually interesting). One thing, if you’re planning on attending ASU for the party reputation, I recommend for you to live in the dorms for as long as you can and afford. Otherwise, TRY YOUR HARDEST TO STAY AWAY FROM THE DORMS! …seriously. You might miss out on some long term friendships (not my case) but you can always find friends somewhere else.

Arizona State University is a good school with good academics and plenty of opportunities for you major, be it business, biology, or engineering. The social scene is a big thing at this school and everyone attends the free home football games. There's always a party to be found but if you're not the party type, there's quiet parts of campus as well.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Overall, Arizona State University has a beautiful campus, nice weather once fall arrives, and a wide range of majors with an equally wide range of facilities to pursue such majors in. Due to the size of the undergraduate population, common classes are typically overcrowded, but the more specialized may have classes have anywhere around 10-50 students enrolled. Great university for diversity and "free" athletics, the Tempe campus always has something to do.

I think their online program is incredible. Most of the professors I have had have been very attentive. Some of them I do not even know their name. Some classes are not challenging enough, but some are sufficiently challenging and I very much appreciate the courses and professors.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Arizona State University has been notoriously known as a party college, as well as a leader and innovator in the world of science and technology. The university spends a lot of money on research and development, in an aim to better the student experience, often at the cost of the students learning. Many of the facilities and equipment are limited, and their upkeep is lacking. Many of the professors care about their students and want them to succeed, yet there are many professors who are more focused on their research and funding and not on the quality of education that their students are getting. Overall, there are many perks and disadvantages to attending Arizona State University, from my experience, the disadvantages outweigh the perks, yet every student has a different experience.
